The Buckeye Flame

NewsMatch 2026

$465 raised of $15,000

Welcome to our 2026 NewsMatch campaign: Burning Brighter.

We're fired up. And for a pretty good reason. Thanks to our friends at NewsMatch, the first $13,000 we raise in our year-end campaign will be tripled. That means that your donation has three times the impact.

Which is huge for our scrappy, queer nonprofit newsroom.

If you’re not already a monthly donor, please consider supporting us this month when your dollars have three times the impact.

We started The Buckeye Flame because LGBTQ+ Ohioans deserve journalism that pays attention to our lives. Our stories matter. With your support, we’ll keep telling them for years to come.

When you set up a monthly donation at the Ember, Bonfire, or Inferno levels, you'll become a Firefly and get our Firefly Perks:

  • Exclusive Fireflies holographic vinyl sticker to show off your pride in being a Firefly.
  • Firefly Chats: Quarterly opportunities with Buckeye Flame staff to get the inside scoop about our reporting.
  • Discount code for The Buckeye Flame Merch Shop.

If you'd rather send a check, please make it out to "The Buckeye Flame" and send it to PO Box 602121, Cleveland, OH 44102. We also welcome gifts made through your Donor Advised Fund - our EIN is 85-0805098.

The Buckeye Flame is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation is fully tax deductible.
